Unusually chilly weather will stick around into Mother’s Day and a freeze warning is in effect for much of the region.
The freeze warning is in effect from 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. for Fairfax, Montgomery, Prince William, Carroll, Culpeper, Frederick, Fauquier, Stafford, Howard, Loudoun and Spotsylvania counties. Counties and cities east of I-95 are under a frost advisory.

Hoping to have brunch outside on the patio for mom? Theodore says it will be sunny with temperatures in the high 50s by noon Sunday. By 5 p.m., temperatures will reach the low 60s, she said.

The temperature at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport dropped to 37 early Saturday. That’s the coldest temperature recorded there in May since 1966, the National Weather Service said.
Then, for the start of the work week, highs are set to be in the 60s.
This will be the coldest first two weeks in May since 1945, Storm Team4 Meteorologist Chuck Bell found.
