Three Dead After Eastern Shore Crash

Maryland State Police say three people from Virginia are dead after a crash on the Eastern Shore.

The crash occurred before 9 p.m. Monday when police say an Acura TL went off state Route 12 in Girdletree in southern Worcester County. The car hit several trees and caught fire.

State police Sgt. Christopher Davala says it is a busy, back road that can be slick because it was repaved about a year ago.

Police say the driver, 25-year-old Nicole Earnest, and her two passengers, 22-year-old Amanda Phillips and 45-year-old Sean Mobley, were pronounced dead on the scene. All three are from Chincoteague, Virginia.

The Maryland State Police crash team and troopers from the Berlin barrack are investigating the crash.
