We know it might seem kinda strange to you to hear there are actually decent restaurants outside the District. It's not really sinking in with us yet, either. But Howard County Restaurant Week is running now through Aug. 9.
So if you just think it would be entertaining to run up to Ellicott City, Woodstock (!) or Columbia, check out prix-fixe menus ranging from a mere $10.09 up to $40.09. Aside from saving a few bucks, you'll also be helping out local farmers, because participating restos are featuring Maryland-grown meat and produce.
Bistro Blanc Restaurant and Wine Lounge says it's made a special effort to feature fresh local products on their lunch and dinner a la carte menus. Their dinner prix-fixe menu ($35.09) includes apps like Capri smoked goat cheese or puff pastry with proscuiutto, entrees such as flank steak with cheddar potato gallette, and desserts like warm peach tart and strawberry shortcake.
OK, OK, we're hungry now. Check out the full list of participating restos below. Reservations are strongly recommended, so hit up OpenTable.com once you've decided where you're going to blow a week's worth of Weight Watchers points in one night.
