There remains at least one overlooked option for transportation to Inauguration: boat.
The Coast Guard has all but shut down the Potomac for Inauguration Day, but water taxis are allowed Tuesday morning and evening. The boats depart from Alexandria and arrive at the Southwest Waterfront, just a mile from Inauguration.
Tickets cost $90 round-trip, or $50 one-way, and can be bought online at www.inauguralwatertaxi.com.
