Police: 5-year-old Found Safe After Abduction in Maryland

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) — Police say a 5-year-old has been found safe in Maryland after a man jumped a woman’s car and took off with the child in the backseat.

Anne Arundel County Police say a woman told authorities that she got out of her car in Glen Burnie on Monday to talk to a friend when a man who had previously asked the woman for money jumped into her car and fled.

Authorities say officers were preparing to issue an Amber Alert when someone found the child in Baltimore and took him to the police station. Police say the child was not harmed.

The woman’s car was later found in Baltimore.

Police are searching for the suspect, who are they describing as a black man who is about 6 feet tall.
