ESSEX, Md. (AP) — Officials in Baltimore County say a 14-year-old boy is dead after drowning in a pool in Essex.
Officials said in a statement that the teen was found unresponsive Monday night at the Harbor Point Estates Community Pool. Officials say he was taken to a hospital where he died Tuesday morning.
Officials identified the teen as Meshach Praise Massally of Essex.
Officials say an investigation revealed that the teen and others had entered the pool after hours and that some swam while others threw pool furniture in the pool. Officials say Massally, who could not swim, had been in the shallow end of the pool but was later found in the deep end and pulled from the water.
