Number of Breakthrough COVID-19 Hospitalizations Can Be Misleading

While tracking breakthrough infections, some states don’t distinguish between the number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 and those who just happen to test positive while they’re there for something else. “What it does is it makes people think this vaccine isn’t working,” Dr. Paul Offit said.
