NBC4 Allstate Community Shred Scheduled for April 2

Looking for a way to get rid of personal documents? NBC4's next Community Shred is scheduled for Saturday, April 2.

It's set for 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Annandale, Virginia campus of Northern Virginia Community College. The address is 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, Virginia 22003.

Shredding is the easiest way to prevent identity theft, so bring your old bank statements and other private documents. There is a five-box maximum per each personal car.

To keep this event safe and secure, please do not bring batteries, flammables, combustibles, electronic equipment (hard drives), media materials (DVDs, CDs, tapes), binders, or hanging files.

If you plan on going to the shred, the line on Lake Drive will close at 11 a.m. For safety reasons, organizers have requested that people remain in their vehicles. No business vehicles are permitted.

From Montgomery County, take I-270 south to I-495 south to VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike (exit 52A-52B).  Drive west on Little River Turnpike to Lake Drive. Turn left on Lake Drive and you are where the SHRED line begins.

From Prince George's County, take I-495 south to VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike (exit 52A-52B). Drive west on Little River Turnpike to Lake Drive. Turn left on Lake Drive and you are where the SHRED line begins.

From Virginia or Washington, D.C.:

Drive east or west on I-66 to exit 64 A (495 South). Continue on I-495 south to VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike (exit 52A-52B).  Drive west on Little River Turnpike to Lake Drive. Turn left on Lake Drive and you are where the SHRED line begins.
