Wizards Russell Westbrook Is a ‘Huge Fan' of ‘Silent Assassin,' Bradley Beal

Russell Westbrook is a 'huge fan' of 'silent assassin,' Bradley Beal originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

While many pundits and fans have been salivating over the pairing of Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal, Westbrook spoke to the media for the first time as a member of the Wizards Saturday and he's just as excited about playing alongside the Panda.

"Me watching Brad, seeing Brad, and competing against him for years I've always been a huge fan of his game," Westbrook said. "He's like a silent assassin, he doesn't really say much but once the game starts he gets to it. That's something that I love about him from watching him."

"Obviously he's gotten better and better each season," Westbrook continued. "I'm just excited to play alongside him and help him in any way that I can."

Westbrook and Beal shared the court as teammates once in 2018 as members of "Team LeBron" during the All-Star game. However, they didn't communicate extensively because "everybody is so busy during that week," Westbrook said.

Westbrook and Beal did not practice together Saturday as logistics surrounding Wall/Westbrook trade were still being finalized. He's scheduled to begin practicing with his new squad Sunday, December 6.
