Wizards return to practice for first time since COVID-19 outbreak originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
After having five consecutive games postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak, the Wizards returned to practice on Wednesday night in Southeast Washington, a good sign they will be able to resume their regular schedule sometime soon.
The Wizards had not practiced since their last game, a win over the Suns on Jan. 11. Over the weekend, they re-opened their facility for individual workouts after five days off.
This followed seven players testing positive and several more entering league protocol. The outbreak forced postponed games against the Jazz, Pistons, Cavs (twice) and Hornets. Those games are expected to be made up later this season.

The Wizards' next game is on Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks. They then see the Spurs on Sunday and the Rockets on Tuesday. In order to play any of those, the Wizards will need at least eight healthy players.
Last Friday, head coach Scott Brooks and general manager Tommy Sheppard addressed the media and said they only had six healthy players, not enough to conduct a full practice.
The Wizards are 3-8 on the season, having played the fewest games of any team so far. Their five postponed games make up nearly a third of the 16 total the league has had to move.
