Washington Wizards 2020-21 First Half Schedule Reveals No National Games on ESPN, TNT

Wizards 2020-21 first half schedule reveals no national games on ESPN, TNT originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Washington Wizards first-half schedule for the 2020-21 season was released earlier this week and fans are upset that Washington holds zero nationally televised games on ESPN or TNT.

Remember, Washington had four "nationally televised" games last season – three came via NBA TV, while the lone ESPN game was their matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 8.

Washington does have six nationally televised games on NBA TV, however, starting January 3 against the Brooklyn Nets.

There is hope that Washington could get some nationally televised love on ESPN or TNT this year, specifically in the second half of the season.

With the Westbrook for Wall trade happening so close to the start of the season it's safe to assume that the schedule was basically set in stone prior to the power shift that is Westbrook arriving in the nation's capital. Also, the NBA only released the first-half schedule for the upcoming season as they continue to adjust to the new reality that is the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The second-half schedule is fluid at this point, possibly allowing for the Wizards to grace TNT or ESPN's prime time slots.

The most exciting teams get featured on the grandest stages – with a former MVP joining Bradley Beal in the backcourt, Washington may certainly fall into that category sooner rather than later.
