Beal dealt with similar issues last season. He missed a few games with a right hip contusion which he suffered in a win over the Pistons in March. After missing five games, Beal returned for Washington’s win over the Magic in early April, only to reveal the initial contusion led to nerve issues as well.
Now, though, Beal is merely listed as questionable and his appearance in Friday’s game will depend on his progression over the next 24 hours. In addition to Beal, Anthony Gill (calf) is also listed as questionable, with Thomas Bryant (knee), Rui Hachimura (personal reasons/COVID protocol), and Cassius Winston (hamstring) listed as OUT for the game vs. Indiana.
Beal scored a team-high 23 points in Washington’s season-opening win in Toronto. He seemed to mesh well in his first regular-season game with new arrivals like Spencer Dinwiddie, Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
