Arenas' Almost Triumphant Return

Agent Zero scores, but misses the win

Gilbert Arenas' return to the court Saturday gave fans plenty to cheer about, scoring 15 points and making 10 assists.  But a block by a former Washington Wizard handed the Detroit Pistons the win, 98-96.

With less than 5 second remaining, Agent Zero missed his own free throw, chased down the ball and was about to score a winning three-pointer when Kwame Brown blocked the shot.

Wizards teammate Caron Butler quickly grabbed the ball, only to miss a jumper at the buzzer.

After the game, Arenas was his usual jovial self, even poking fun at himself for ignoring his self-imposed ban on talking to the media, NBA Fanhouse reported. "You know how I am," he said. "You know I'm wishy-washy."

But blog or no blog, the three-time All-Star's return is still welcome.  "It was real good to get him back out there," Butler told News4's Lindsay Czarniak.

Arenas will travel with the Wiz for tonight's game against Indiana, but won't play.  He said he's taking his comeback on a game by game basis, and he plans to avoid consecutive plays.
