Get ready for super heroes, drama, and a lot of laughter with NBC’s new show. "Powerless," a DC Comics, premieres Thursday night.

Set in the DC Universe, the show stars Vanessa Hudgens as Emily, the new director of Research and Development at Wayne Securities, an off-shoot of Wayne Enterprises in Charm City.

While viewers might not expect to see the Dark Night any time soon, they'll meet his cousin, Van Wayne, played by "Firefly's" Alan Tudyk.

Emily, alongside a cynical team of developers, is tasked with creating products the average citizen will find useful in the case of an imminent superhero battle. Tudyk and Hudgens are joined by "Community’s" Danny Pudi and comedians Ron Funches and Christina Kirk.

Hudgens describes the show as "a complete 180 on the super hero world as we normally see them."

The show premiers Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
