- An accountant from New Zealand got fired for sending menacing e-mails with words in bold, red, capital letters to co-workers. The woman who was with the company for two years was canned because she "caused disharmony in the workplace by using block capitals, bold typeface and red text in her emails," the company said.
- The world's first cloned wolf has died. Snuwolf, 4, was found dead at the national zoo in South Korea. She died of unknown causes and was one of two wolves cloned in 2005. The wolf's sister, Snuwolffy, is still alive at the Seoul Zoo.
- Astronauts installed a chest of drawers in the International Space Station with a new freezer, sleeping compartment and treadmill named after Stephen Colbert. The Italian-built piece of furniture was nicknamed "Leonardo," after Leonardo da Vinci, and was lifted from the space shuttle Discovery into the space station by a robotic arm.
- Samoa is the first country in decades to change the direction of traffic from one side of the road to the other. Officials want the South Pacific Island nation to have similar driving rules as drivers do in Australia and New Zealand so that expats will send back used cars to relatives. This would drive prices down and allow rural residents to buy autos in the country.
- The middle of the U.S. is in for a brutal winter that brings with it numbing cold, plummeting temperatures and mounds of snow, the Farmers' Almanac predicts. The report is at odds with the National Weather Service. Natch.
