Ashley Olsen is shocked the pressures of fame at a young age didn't propel her into a downward spiral and result in an embarrassing public meltdown a la Britney Spears, she dished in an interview.
"I look at Britney, and I'm surprised I didn't end up like her," Ashley sneered.
Olsen dished to Marie Claire that she is simply stunned her career wasn't felled by a very-public breakdown since she and twin Mary-Kate have been under the searing spotlight since their starring roles on the sitcom "Full House" when they were just 6 months old.
Growing up Olsen was so tough that it's hard to image she didn't spiral out of control, she said.
"It was almost like I was in the Army," the 23-year old said of her childhood. "School, work, homework, fly to New York, get in at two in the morning, do a morning show at 5 a.m., then another one at seven, then a radio interview at 10," she said.
Olsen is thankful she was able to soldier through the demands of fame to become a fashion designer rather than have her life play out in the tabloids unlike some celebs.
"You're either born with a sense of style of you're not," she said. "Either you care or you don't. And we love fashion."
