Actress Jennifer Hudson comes back to Chicago on Christmas Eve to give away hundreds of toys to needy kids in the North Kenwood neighborhood.
Oscar award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson was back in familiar territory for Christmas Eve.
Hudson gave away hundreds of toys to needy kids at Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church in Woodlawn, the same church that she got her star in the choir.
The Englewood native dedicated the toy giveaway to her nephew, Julian King, who was killed, along with Hudson's mother and brother in the summer of 2008.
"This is the best time of the year to give back. This is what makes me happy, is to be able to give back at Christmas," Hudson said.
Hudson gave birth to a son this year with husband David "Punk" Otunga.
