Woodbridge Man Charged for Leaving Two Children in Vehicle in Walmart Parking Lot

A Virginia man was arrested Thursday after allegedly leaving two children in a vehicle while shopping at a Walmart store in Woodbridge.

Someone in the parking lot of the Walmart at 14000 Worth Ave. called police around 6:50 p.m. Thursday after seeing the children alone in a vehicle.

Prince William County police officers responded to the scene and found the children, a three-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy.

Authorities say the kids were left alone for about 40 minutes before Milton Javier Rocha-Encinas, 38, returned to find officers waiting for him.

Rocha-Encinas, of Woodbridge, is charged with two counts of cruelty or injuries to children. His court date is pending.

Police did not disclose the relationship of Rocha-Encinas to the children, but described him as a guardian.

The children were not harmed.
