Woman Delivers Baby on the Side of the Beltway

A Virginia mom-to-be couldn't quite wait to get to the hospital Friday morning.

The woman was on her way to the hospital when she realized her baby was coming sooner than expected, said Fairfax County Police. Virginia State Police and Fairfax County Fire crews arrived at the scene along the Outer Loop of the Beltway just before 3 a.m.

Medics on the scene were able to get the mom-to-be into an ambulance and delivered her baby.

Both Mom and baby were taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where they are doing fine.
