Two men were sentenced Monday for a shooting at Westfield Montgomery Mall. Derrick Ward reports.
Two men who pleaded guilty to a shooting at a Maryland mall were sentenced Monday.
The shooting in a garage at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda last March was a result of an ongoing feud between Lucas Graves and David Montalvo and two other men.
Prosecutors said they stalked their targets. In the days and hours leading up to the shooting, they were seen at Montgomery Mall outside and inside the Nordstrom where one of the men worked. They enlisted others to help track down their prey until they confronted them in the garage and opened fire.
"This is a case where reckless disregard for human life was of the utmost paramount, because they shot at two people they had a violent beef with,” said Ramon Korionoff of the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office.
No one was injured, but bullets struck two vehicles.
“This is hard to believe that only a couple of cars were dented by bullets, were penetrated by bullets, and that nobody was hurt,” Korionoff said.
Graves and Montalvo pleaded guilty to assault and weapons charges last month.

Graves was sentenced to 20 years, and Montalvo was sentenced to 15 years.
