News you need to know

The following stories are brought to you by the good people on the News4 assignment desk.

BO KNOWS THE PRESS
First Pet Bo Obama has made his official White House debut.  With all the anticipation and speculation recently it would have been easy to scoff at today's unveiling.  Got to admit, though, it's a cute pup. (NBCWashington.com)

POWERBALL WINNER STILL UNKNOWN
If you've checked your Powerball lottery ticket -- again and again -- and you are definitely not the winner of last week's $144 million jackpot, it's still possible to play.  But not like that.  The winner of D.C.'s largest money pot has yet to come forward to claim the prize and Washington can't stop buzzing about who it could be. So the lottery folks, knowing how to take advantage of buzz when they see it, created a game that's all about another game.  That's right, "Guess The Winner" is an online contest on the D.C. Lottery Web site that asks players whether they think the winner is a seasoned D.C. lottery player, an occasional player or a newbie, among other things.  (Washington Post)

NO CLEAN PLATE CLUB HERE
An unemployed chemist was jailed Tuesday for spraying a mix of urine and feces on food, wine and children's books in several British stores. Sahnoun Daifallah was sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of four counts of contaminating goods. (MSNBC)

NINJA SUIT HELPS TURTLE SWIM
Turtle rescuers have demonstrated the first fin suit designed to allow a green sea turtle that lost three of its flippers to finally swim a straight line. Workers at Sea Turtle Inc. strapped Allison, a five-year-old rescued turtle, on Wednesday into a neoprene "ninja" suit that holds a carbon-fiber fin in place on her back. The fin acts as a rudder, allowing her to propel herself forward with her sole fin. The success follows failed attempts last year to fit her with a prosthetic rear flipper. (USA Today)
