Hailing a cab could get a little more pricy during inauguration. The D.C. Taxi Commission is looking into implementing a surcharge for that weekend.
The charge would reportedly target extra passengers in each car, in order to encourage cabbies to work during the busiest times of the weekend.
A similar surcharge was added for Nationals' playoff games and during Hurricane Sandy. The surcharge was rescinded for the games, but not for the storm.
The proposal will be discussed at the taxicab commission's next meeting.
