Tax-Free Week in Maryland Is Aug. 11-17

Maryland shoppers won’t have to pay taxes on qualifying items, school supplies and emergency preparedness equipment, through Aug. 17.

Shoppers in Maryland won't have to pay sales taxes on certain items for a limited time.

The state's tax-free week is set for the week of Aug. 11-17, when you won't be charged sales tax on qualifying items.

Most notably, you won't have to pay sales tax on clothing and footwear that costs $100 or less per item. In addition, the first $40 of a backpack or bookbag will also be tax-free.
