The Coast Guard found one body after a SUV ran off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT) and plunged into the water below.
Divers found the body of 51-year-old Jean Calcagno Tuesday afternoon.
The Coast Guard said in a news release that at least two people were believed to be inside the vehicle.
According to the NBC affiliate, WAVY-TV, the Coast Guard launched two 45-foot response boatcrews, one 25-foot response boatcrew, and a rescue helicopter crew. There were also crews from Virginia Marine Police and Virginia Beach Fire Department assisting with the search.
This is the first time a vehicle plunged from the bridge tunnel in five years.
