Suspect in White Van Steals ATM From Maryland Gas Station, Police Say; Report of Attempted Theft of a 2nd ATM

Police say three men backed a van into a gas station in Laurel, Maryland, and stole an ATM. Another attempt to steal an ATM was unsuccessful at a gas station in Lanham, Maryland. News4’s Molette Green reports.

An ATM thief is at large after stealing a machine from a gas station in Anne Arundel County -- and police are investigating whether an attempted theft of a second ATM is related.

Anne Arundel County Police said someone pulled a white van up to the Parkway Crossing Exxon at 3384 Fort Meade Road in Laurel about 4 a.m. Tuesday and stole the ATM there.

No one was injured.

The suspect was believed to still be at large with the ATM as of 6 a.m., police said.

Authorities also say someone attempted to steal another ATM, this one in the 7700 block of Annapolis Road in Lanham, Maryland.

Prince George's County Police responded to Southern and Pennsylvania avenues about 5 a.m. to recover a vehicle that may be connected to that attempted theft.

Police say they are investigating whether there could be any links to other ATM robberies or attempted robberies in the region.
