Student Once In Wheelchair Ran to Accept Her Diploma

In November, a car crash nearly ended all of Dyamond Frazier’s dreams. A hit-and-run driver slammed into the car she and her parents were riding in; the impact was so severe that Dyamond was thrown through the rear windshield of the car. Dyamond — an honors student and member of student government at Wise High School — was left in a wheelchair. And that experience made Thursday even more special, as Dyamond walked and even ran across the stage to accept her high school diploma. “I am really, really, really excited I can walk across the stage,” Dyamond said. News4 Prince George’s bureau chief Tracee Wilkins has her story.
