Small Business Owner Shut Out of DC Sports Betting Considers Lawsuit

When D.C. leaders approved a plan to bring sports betting to the District, they said they wanted local small businesses to get in on the action. But at least one restaurant owner says his business is being shut out. The owner of Willie’s Brew and Que near Nats Park says he’s shut out of the licensing because he’s in one of four two-block zones, set by the District, where only the professional sports venues’ apps will work. The owner says he’s actually three blocks from the ballpark.
