Man Killed, 3 Injured in Shooting at Waldorf Hookah Lounge

News4’s Jackie Bensen reports from the scene of a shooting in Waldorf, Maryland, where four men were injured.

A man was killed and three others were injured in a shooting at a hookah and smoking lounge in Waldorf, Maryland, Friday night, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded the shooting at Room 301 on Crain Highway at 9 p.m. and found four people were shot, according to the sheriff’s office.

Medics took the victims to area hospitals. Dontrell Lowell Watson, 34, of Upper Marlboro, died a short time later, authorities said.

One person is in critical condition and the other two are in serious condition, the sheriff's office said Saturday.

The shooting took place after two groups got into a dispute at the hookah lounge, investigators said.

It's unclear if the shooting happened inside the lounge or in the parking lot.

The scene is secure, according the sheriff's office. There is no word yet on a suspect.

The sheriff's office said it does not believe there is a threat to the public.
