Safety Experiment on Beltway Bridge

A University of Maryland electrical engineer has developed sensors to monitor the stress on area bridges and relay the information wirelessly. That system is important for a bridge on the northwestern branch of the Beltway, which uses the same construction as the one the collapsed in Minneapolis, killing 13 in 2007.
