Residents: Crime Makes Park Near DC Convention Center Unusable

A small park near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center has a new playground, fence and benches, but locals say crime and vagrants prevent them from using it. News4’s Tom Sherwood reports. The DC Department of Parks and Recreation said: “Keeping our parks and recreation centers safe is our first priority. The DC Department of Parks and Recreation has been exploring security enhancement options at N Street Park. We will soon begin installation of a full-height security turnstile this fall at the park, which will control access. We are also reviewing other options, such as video monitoring, to help us achieve our goal of making every park a safe place for all DC residents.”
