Rescued Dog Gets New Wheels, Looks for New Home

'Buster' is ready for adoption

A Dachshund mix named Buster survived a paralyzing car accident. Seven months later, he’s got new wheels and a new lease on life — all he needs now is a new home. The Washington Animal Rescue league is putting him up for adoption.

Buster the dog had a near-death experience, but he's now recovering and looking for a new owner.

The Washington Animal Rescue League says that a car hit Buster seven months ago and that a good Samiritan picked the Dachshund-mix up from the side of the road and brought him in.

Buster suffered a paralyzing spinal cord injury, but after surgery, rehab and a specially-designed wheelchair, he's now ready for adoption.

Rescue League officials say Buster does have special needs, including extra vet visits and help going to the bathroom. But they say the dog is happy and energetic.
