Post Tells Fenty to Pay Back Dubai, China for Vacations

WASHINGTON -- The Washington Post editorial page Tuesday urged D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty to personally repay $36,000 that was spent by foreign governments on his recent trips to China and Dubai.

Fenty failed to voluntarily disclose the government-sponsored trips and still has not said what he did while he was on them, the Post complains.

The D.C. Attorney General's Office issued a report saying the mayor's trips were "legally sufficient," but that answer is insufficient for the Post.

This is Fenty's first ethics issue since becoming mayor two years ago.
