Police: Man Kidnapped, Forced to Withdraw Cash

Police are searching for a gunman who kidnapped a rider at gunpoint at the Naylor Road Metro station in Temple Hills, forced him to go to the Waterfront Metro station, then robbed him. News4’s Mark Segraves explains what happened and what Metro is doing at every station to catch him.

Police are looking for a person of interest following a kidnapping at a D.C. Metro station Friday night.

Officials say a man was taken by train from the Naylor Road station in Temple Hills on Friday night to the Waterfront station. The kidnapper's gun was apparently covered by a sweatshirt as they rode the train, Metro officials said.

The pair left the Waterfront station in southwest Washington, where the victim was forced to withdraw money from several ATMs.

The men returned to the Waterfront station, where Metro officials say they boarded separate trains. Police say they believe that the kidnapper rode back to Naylor Road. The victim was not injured.

Authorities have released surveillance footage of a man they believe may have information regarding the case. If you recognize the man in the attached picture, contact police.
