Police: Girl, 5, Abducted, Sexually Assaulted in Fairfax County

A 5-year-old girl was abducted and sexually assaulted in Fairfax County, Virginia, about 5 p.m. Sunday, police said. 

A family member noticed the child was missing from the 6700 block of Tower Drive in the Fairfax County section of Alexandria. The child returned a short time later and told the family member a man abused her, investigators said Monday. 

A composite sketch released by police on Tuesday, showing a man with a mustache, heavy eyebrows and a side part in his dark hair. Police described the man as being in his mid-20s to early 30s, 5 feet 8 inches or 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. 

Anyone with information for police is asked to call 703-691-2131 or text a tip with TIP187 to CRIMES. A reward of as much as $1,000 is offered. 

"Remember, the information you have, regardless of how trivial you feel it may be, could be the critical link in solving this case," police said.
