Man Hit by Metro Train at Rosslyn

WMATA: Man suffers non life-threatening injury

Orange and Blue Line train passengers experienced delays in both directions Sunday morning after a man was struck by a train at Rosslyn station.

According to WMATA's official Twitter account, the man placed himself in front of an oncoming Blue Line train at approximately 10:30 a.m. A WMATA spokesperson said the train operator saw the man come off the platform and hit the emergency brakes, lessening the force of the contact.

The man sustained a non life-threatening injury. The man's identity was not immediately available, and the extent of his injuries was not immediately known.

Orange Line trains were single-tracking between Clarendon and Foggy Bottom stations, while Blue Line trains were single-tracking between Arlington Cemetery and Foggy Bottom. Two-track service on both lines resumed shortly before noon Sunday, but residual delays were still occurring.
