Man Arrested in Tasing, Pepper Spray Attack

News 4’s Pat Collins reports on the search for a man who attacked a woman Wednesday in her home on Chesapeake Street NW. Police said the suspect was armed with a Taser gun, pepper spray and handcuffs, in an attempt to sexually assault the victim.

Officials say the woman who was attacked with a Taser and peper spray in her home knew her attacker, who is now behind bars.

According to police, the man knocked on the door of the woman's home on Chesapeake Street, saying he had a package. When the woman opened her door, he came after her with pepper spray and a Taser, then tried to handcuff her.

He hit her in the face and she suffered several broken bones, according to police. The suspect then touched the woman inappropriately but she was able to fight him off and he fled from the scene.

She was able to drive herself to a nearby hospital, where she was treated and later released.

Police said the man is described as a white man in his 50s with gray hair, possibly driving a red Volvo.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and he is in custody in a different jurisdiction.
