One Firefighter Injured in Fire in Southeast D.C.

Five people were injured in a fire in a multi-family building in Southeast Washington Saturday morning. News4’s Derrick Ward reports.

One firefighter was injured, and four other people were hurt, in a fire in Southeast D.C. Saturday morning.

Some people inside the multi-family building in the 2600 block of 29th Street jumped from the upper floors, while firefighters had to rescue other occupants with ladders, reported News4's Derrick Ward.

The firefighter suffered burn injuries. The other four people injured were being treated for smoke inhalation.

Streets around the scene were closed during the response.
