Police Cruiser Skids on Black Ice, Hits Pole

A Prince George’s County Police car crashed last night at Piscataway Road and Steed Road. The crash happened at about 11 p.m. Prince George’s County Police tell us that the crash was caused by black ice on the road. The officer was not seriously hurt.

A Prince George’s County police officer is recovering after losing control of his cruiser and crashing into a telephone pole.

Corporal Erica Johnson told NBC Washington the officer was on patrol, hit a patch of black ice, skidded out of control and slammed into a pole.
 
It happened on Piscataway Road near Steed Road in Clinton, Md., at about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
 
The officer was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
