NW DC Store Robbed for Third Time in Two Years

Police said the robbers grabbed store merchandise before they fled. No one was injured. News4’s Jackie Bensen reports.

A northwest Washington store was robbed on Monday afternoon, but it is a familiar sight for the workers.

The same store was robbed twice in 2015.

In Monday’s robbery, two men entered the Metro PCS store in the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, around 2 p.m. Police said they herded staff and customers into a back room, taking valuables from everyone.

Police said the robbers also grabbed store merchandise before they fled. No one was injured.

In 2015, the store was robbed on May 21 and again on Nov. 9. The November robbery resulted in an arrest 13 days later.
