A baby who apparently was just hours old was found Friday morning on the doorstep of a home in Annapolis, Maryland, and police are seeking his mother.
The Hispanic infant was found outside a house on the 2000 block of Forest Drive, the Annapolis Police Department said. Police responded to the home near Annapolis Towne Centre about 6:40 a.m.
The baby boy appeared to be in good health and was taken to a hospital for care.
Police say they are concerned about the health of his mother.
"She may need medical attention or be a victim of a crime," police said in a statement.
Police shared photos of two items of clothing found with the baby: a small, purple Mudd brand women's shirt, and a black, hooded Adidas brand hooded jacket with red stripes on the sleeves.
Anyone with information on the identity of the mother or her whereabouts is asked to call police at 410-260-3439. Please do not share any personal information on the police department's social media accounts, police asked.
