New Behavioral Services Building Opens in Fairfax County

Move centralizes services & adds new ones

A major change in the locations for behavioral services is underway in Fairfax County.

Emergency, psychiatric and crisis services -- once housed in different buildings -- are all locating to a new facility at 8221 Willow Oaks Drive in Merrifield, Virginia.

The new building will include all programs currently offered at the Woodburn Center in Annandale. Many other services for youth and adults will also relocate to the new facility, including the programs currently located on Democracy Lane in Fairfax, Jermantown Road in Fairfax, and Park Place in Falls Church.

New services will be offered including peer support, a primary health care clinic and a pharmacy.

The change is expected to promote wellness and recovery in a welcoming environment.

Daryl Washington, deputy director of the Community Service Board, emphasized there will be no disruption in emergency services during the move.
