Hundreds of people took part in a special event for Veterans Wednesday. The Hiring Our Heroes job fair, which NBC4 is a proud partner of, was held in southwest D.C. Wednesday. News4’s Kristin Wright is live at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling with more on how the fair connects veterans and employers.
NBC4 is proud to play a part in Hiring Our Heroes, the nationwide initiative that helps our veterans, active duty, guard and reserve military members and their spouses find gainful employment.
The latest free event was a hiring workshop and career fair for servicemen and women. Over sixty D.C. area employers were present.
Job seekers also had the opportunity to participate in one-on-one mentoring sessions, where they worked on resume-building and interviewing techniques.
The fair was held Nov. 12 at the Bolling club on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.
Along with NBC Washington, Aon and Capital One sponsored the event.
