Military Families Say Stress of Deployment is Unsustainable

Researchers Blue Star Families recently surveyed more than 8,300 active duty service members, family members and veterans. And 72 percent of those surveyed said the current rate of military actions is “unsustainable” for their families. The study said key issues included the impact of deployments on children, as well as the stability of their homes and and “operational tempo.” Blue Star Families – which works to support the military families – says the Department of Defense must do a better job of incorporating families into its current thinking.
