Metro Stations Reopen After Flooding

Rhode Island Avenue floods in Northeast

heavy rains caused the Bloomingdale neighborhood in Northwest Washington to flood again on Sunday night for the fourth time in recent months. Darcy Spencer reports

Metro's Green and Yellow lines were closed between Mt. Vernon Square and Georgia Avenue in Northwest due to flooding at the Shaw-Howard University Metro Station.

The stations reopened before 11:45 p.m.

Alternate bus service was requested. Riders were also advised to take the Red Line between Gallery Place and Fort Totten.

The 100 block of Rhode Island Avenue NE also was closed due to flooding.
