Metro Promises Commemorative SmarTrip Card If Caps Win Cup

94.7 Fresh FM’s Tommy McFly talks about a commemorative SmarTrip card Metro officials are planning if the Capitals win the Stanley Cup. He also looks at how Washington Dulles International Airport is lit up in red, and how The Anthem has a special marquee up.

Metro says it will create a commemorative SmarTrip card in honor of Washington Capitals right winger T.J. Oshie if the Caps bring home the Stanley Cup.

Oshie has been seen riding Metrorail to the last two home games of the Stanley Cup Final. He even ran out of fare to cover his exit from the station ahead of Game 4.

On Tuesday, Metro sent a tweet to Oshie, promising a commemorative SmarTrip card if the Caps win the series.

"Hey @tjoshie77! Congrats on an amazing win! Bring home the #StanleyCup and we're gonna make a commemorative smartrip card in your honor! -- ❤️ your favorite transit system," the tweet read.

The Capitals are one win away from capturing the first title in their 43rd season after routing the Vegas Golden Knights 6-2 on Monday night. The Caps now leads the series 3-1. Oshie and the Capitals will get their first chance to hoist the Cup in Game 5 on Thursday night back in Las Vegas.
