It's time to take your talent to the Metro -- but, you have to audition first.
As part of Metro's Art in Transit Program, local singers, musicians, dancers and poets can try out for a chance to perform at area Metro station this summer.
WMATA will hold auditions for its MetroPerforms! series from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at their headquarters (600 5th St. NW).
Auditions slots are first-come, first-served.
Artists may also be chosen to perform at Music on the Mall, a program developed by Metro in cooperation with the National Park Service and the Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, according to a press release.
Performances will begin this weekend and continue through the end of August.
If interested, you can fill out an application and must be able to pass a background check.

Metro began holding auditions in 2008. In the past, performers were paid a small stipend, however they are now asked to serve on a volunteer basis.
