Mattie Stepanek to Be Honored With Peace Day in Maryland

Years after the death of 13-year-old Mattie Stepanek, his mother Jeni speaks to News4’s Pat Lawson Muse about a Peace Day Celebration honoring Mattie’s memory in Rockville on Saturday. The young peace advocate did not let his rare condition of dysautonomic mitochondrial myopathy interfere with his advocacy. He wrote seven books of poetry and essays on peace. He died June 22, 2004 and would have turned 28 years old this month.
