Maryland Delegate ‘Jokes' About Disliking Old Bay, Taking Cue From DC Mayor on Mumbo Sauce

Is there anything funny about joking that you dislike Old Bay?

Maryland Del. David Moon said on Twitter that he was "annoyed" by the famous Maryland seasoning, taking a cue from D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Bowser caused a stir earlier this week by saying she was annoyed by mumbo sauce, the famous D.C. condiment.

Parroting Bowser almost word for word, Moon wrote on Tuesday: "Is anybody else annoyed by Old Bay seasoning? I wish people would stop suggesting that it is quintessential MD. I'm just saying I was a full grown man before I had heard of Old Bay seasoning! So there, I've said it."

But some people came to the defense of Moon, who represents the 12th District, in Montgomery County.

"yo, i love this troll #mumbosauceformayor," one woman wrote.

On Thanksgiving, Moon posted some "old photos" that show him as a child. In one, a hand sprinkles Old Bay on a teen boy's birthday cake. In another, a little boy grins as he clutches a tin of the 18-herb-and-spice seasoning.
