Someone stole donations from an Islamic center in Maryland, and police are searching for a suspect caught on video.

The Idara Jaferia Islamic Center in Burtonsville was burglarized on Aug. 12, Montgomery County police said Thursday. Surveillance footage shows a man in jeans, sneakers and a gray T-shirt that says "Maine" milling around the building.

A building caretaker checked on the building at about 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 and found that the Islamic center's donation locker had been broken into, police said. Surveillance footage showed the man in the gray T-shirt entering the building at about 7:45 p.m.

He used a ladder to climb through an open window on the second-floor, police said. Then, he pried open the donation locker and took off.

Police did not say how much money the burglar stole. The crime occurred just after the Eid al-Adha holiday. The Islamic center did not immediately respond to an inquiry.

Anyone with information is asked to call police. A reward of as much as $10,000 is offered.
