There’s new concerns over safety at an upscale apartment building in College Park, Maryland. A man is murdered in the building’s parking garage after a shootout early New Year’s Day. Prince George’s County Bureau reporter Darcy Spencer reports on the issue residents fear may have helped the killer enter the building.
A 22-year-old man was shot to death in College Park just hours after the new year began.
Prince George's County Police responded to the 9600 block of Milestone Way just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, where they found Stefon Donnell Powell in a parking garage with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are investigating.
Authorities are offering up to a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call 866-411-TIPS.
